Nilkhant Trading

Our place, Nilkhant Trading, sits right on Station Road in Kendujhar. It is a very busy spot because we are so close to the railway station and the OMC office. You can hear the trains whistling all day long and the sound of people rushing to catch their rides. Being near the station means there is a lot of traffic, and sometimes it is hard to find a place to park a bike nearby. We have a simple shop that stays open from morning until late evening. Inside, it is mostly shelves and boxes filled with whatever we are trading at the time. It gets a bit crowded when a new shipment arrives and we have to unpack everything on the floor. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't had the time to get around to it. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in from the nearby offices or those just getting off the train. It is a practical space, meant for work and not for showing off. We use a couple of old fans to keep the air moving, but it still gets warm in the afternoons. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it is quiet just to watch the people go by. It’s a good location for us because everyone passes through here eventually. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
