Our little spot is out in Baghuabol, right by the Rengali Irrigation Colony in Talcher. It’s quite a journey to get here sometimes, mostly because of the dust and all the heavy trucks moving through Angul every single day. We’ve been set up in this colony for a while now, and the office isn’t anything to write home about. It’s just a practical space where we deal with the paperwork and talk to the guys working out on the various sites nearby. Most afternoons, the ceiling fans are just spinning away because the heat in this part of Orissa can be something else. People from the area stop by to ask about different parts or just to see what’s going on with the latest projects. We don’t have a flashy showroom with big glass windows or anything. It’s a working office for people who get their hands dirty. You’ll usually find one of us at an old desk sorting through logs or picking up the phone when it starts ringing. We know our neighbors pretty well, and the local drivers often stop in for a quick chat and some water. Even though the official address says Angul, we really just feel like a small part of the local scenery here near the irrigation project. It stays busy enough, and there is always something that needs to be moved or fixed up. We just keep things rolling along as best we can.
