Lakshmi College

We are located at No.5-538-A on Ammankovil Road in Paraur. It’s a regular street with a lot of houses and some small shops around us. The college is just a part of the daily landscape here. We open up the doors in the morning and wait for the students to arrive from the surrounding villages. Paraur has a very local feel, and we fit right into that. We don't have any big flashy banners or anything corporate. It’s just a building with classrooms and an office where we keep the registers. The staff here has been around for years, so we all know each other’s families. We spend our time teaching and grading papers, and occasionally we have to fix a leaky pipe or paint a wall. It’s a very grounded way to work. Ammankovil Road can get a bit crowded during festival times, but usually, it’s just a steady flow of people. We talk to the students like they are our own neighbors because, honestly, most of them are. There’s no hierarchy here that feels stiff. We just want to make sure the kids have a place to study near their homes. You might see us sitting outside during lunch, just chatting about the day and watching the motorbikes go by. It’s a simple life at the college. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We just do our best with what we have here.
