A N R Concrete Blocks

Our place, A N R Concrete Blocks, is at 11/73 in the J K Complex. We are on Sangoli Rayanna Street, right across from the Sri Annapoorneshwari Talkies in Newpet. It’s a busy street, especially when there is a movie showing and people are crowding around the theater. We have our concrete blocks stacked high in the yard, and it’s a bit of a tight squeeze getting the trucks in and out of the complex. The work is heavy and repetitive, making block after block and letting them sit to harden. We have a small office space inside the complex where we handle the cash and the orders. It’s usually covered in a fine layer of grit from the blocks. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to the market or the cinema. Sometimes they stop in to ask about prices or just to see what we are making. We don’t use any big words or have a polished sales pitch. We just show them the blocks and tell them when they’ll be ready for pickup. It’s a lot of manual labor, loading the blocks onto the back of tempos and trucks. We’ve been in Newpet for a while and the routine doesn't change much. We just show up, mix the concrete, press the blocks, and wait for them to dry.
