Working out here at the Raghuram Cement Plant is definitely an experience. We’re situated in Nalaling Pally village, which is part of the Kamalapuram Mandal in the Kadapah district. If you’ve ever been to this part of Andhra Pradesh, you know it gets pretty dry and dusty, especially with the cement plant right there. Our office is basically right in the middle of it all. There’s always a fine layer of white dust on the windows, no matter how often they get cleaned. It’s a long way from any major city, so we’ve become a tight-knit group. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day stuff that comes with being on a site like this. The roads out here aren't the best, so getting supplies in takes some planning ahead of time. Usually, we start the day pretty early before the heat gets too intense. By noon, the sun is really beating down on the roofs. There isn't much to do in Nalaling Pally itself, so we mostly just stick to the site and the plant area. It’s hard work being out here, but there is a certain rhythm to it that you start to appreciate. We’ve got our own little world going on at Gammon India Ltd within the plant grounds, just trying to keep everything moving without too much trouble. It is a very practical way to live and work, far away from the usual office towers.
