M/S. Zuari Cement Ltd. has been around Yerraguntla for a good while now. We’re located over in Krishna Nagar, right here in the Kadapa district. Most people know the spot because it's a big part of the landscape around here. Even though we are part of that big Italcementi Group from Italy, the daily work feels very local. We deal with the dust and the heat of Andhra Pradesh every single day. It’s hard work getting the cement out to where it needs to go, but that is what we do. The office isn't anything fancy to look at, just a place where the paperwork gets handled and people check in for their shifts. You see the trucks lined up early in the morning and it stays busy until late. We’ve got a lot of local folks working here who have been with the plant for years. It is interesting being tied to a company from Italy, but honestly, we’re just focused on the day-to-day operations in Yerraguntla. There is always something to fix or a delivery to coordinate. We don't really do the big corporate talk here. It's more about making sure the production stays on track and the equipment is running like it should. Living and working in Kadapa means you get used to the rhythm of the factory. It’s a steady job for many families in the area. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
