M/S. Kesoram Cement, Basantnagar

This branch of our work is based at C1 53 in the Kesoram Cement staff colony in Basantnagar. Just like the others around here in the Karimnagar district, we spend most of our time living and breathing the cement business. It’s a dedicated community where the plant is the center of everything. Our day starts when the whistles blow and usually doesn't end until long after the sun goes down. The address might just look like a house number in a colony, but it’s where a lot of the planning for the daily shifts happens. We have been part of the landscape here in Basantnagar for decades. It is a practical life. There is no need for polished marketing when everyone in the state knows where the cement comes from. We focus on the everyday stuff like maintenance and making sure the supply chain doesn't break down. The weather in this part of the country can be pretty harsh, especially in the summer, but we just get on with it. You get used to the noise of the plant after a while; it just becomes part of the background. It is a tight-knit group here at the colony. We share meals and talk about the production numbers like they are just regular news. It is just how we live and work. We keep things moving and make sure the cement gets to where the builders and contractors need it most.
