Rayaz Ahmad Dar

Out here in Meej Pampore, things move at their own pace. I am Rayaz Ahmad Dar, and this is where I spend most of my hours every week. The address might seem like just a set of numbers and names on a map, but to me, it is the center of everything I do in Pulwama. It is located in a quiet enough corner of 192121 where you can hear the birds but still see the main road if you walk a few steps. I started this because I needed a place to work, and it just grew into what it is today. There are no big signs or bright lights to show the way. Most people who come here already know where I am or they ask a local shopkeeper for directions to my spot in Meej. The interior is simple, with just enough room for the essentials and a place for someone to sit if they are waiting for something. I do not use any complicated systems. I keep my notes in a notebook and remember most things by heart. It is a very local way of doing things, I suppose. Some days are slow and I just watch the clouds over Pampore, and other days I do not even have time to finish my lunch because there is so much to handle. It is a good life, even if it is not fancy or polished like the businesses you see in the bigger cities.
