Highway General Store

Our shop is right there at the Main Chowk in Pampore. We've been at Kadlabal for a while now. Some days it's busy with people stopping by while passing through Pulwama. You see the same faces every morning when the shops open up. It's a simple setup. We try to keep the basics on the shelves because that's what people need most when they're on the move or just living nearby. Sometimes the trucks outside make a lot of noise, but that’s just how it is on the highway. We keep the doors open through most of the day. If someone needs something small, they just pop in. It's not fancy. The shelves are wooden and maybe a bit dusty sometimes, but we know where everything is. Running a place in 192121 means you get to know everyone's name after a bit. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who come in for their daily stuff. It gets cold in the winter, so we stay bundled up. Mostly, it's just about being here when the lights are on. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure the inventory stays decent. The Kadlabal area is always moving, and we are just one part of that daily rhythm. Not much more to say really. We're just the Highway General Store doing our bit.
