Achabal Open Mic Foundation

Achabal Open Mic Foundation is based in Anantnag, out in a place called Gopalpora Kalan in the Mattan area. We are in Gowsia Mohalla, and the foundation is run by Mushtaq Ahmad Wani. The pin code here is 192125. It is a local neighborhood where people know each other by name. Our setup is very simple. We are just using a space in Mushtaq's area. It is not like those offices you see in big cities with glass walls and carpets. It is just a plain room with some basic furniture and a lot of paper everywhere. Anantnag is a busy district, but Gopalpora Kalan feels a bit more like a community. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to polish our image. What you see is pretty much what you get. We spend a lot of time just talking to the people who live around Gowsia Mohalla. Sometimes we sit outside if the weather is nice, just to be closer to the street. The foundation doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. We just focus on the day-to-day things that need to be handled. It can be a bit chaotic at times, especially when a lot of people show up at once, but we manage. We don't use any fancy software or big systems. It is just us, some notebooks, and a lot of conversation. It feels very honest and real to be working in the middle of a neighborhood like this.
