Our place is in Guttur, which is in the Penukonda area of Anantapur. S. Rahamthulla runs the operations here and he’s been at it for a long time now. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the big cities, but we stay busy enough with projects around this part of Andhra Pradesh. We’ve been here in Guttur for quite a while now. The work we do is mostly engineering and construction for the local surroundings. It's often very dry out here, so we have to deal with the heat while we're out on site. The office isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we keep our tools and all the paperwork. We spend a lot of time driving out to different spots in the district. Construction takes a lot of patience. You have to wait for the concrete to set and the weather to behave itself. We don't have any fancy brochures or websites. People usually find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing our name on a project site. We work with the local labor and try to get things built the way they should be. It’s simple, honest work. Sometimes we’re working on a small wall and other times it’s something bigger for a local neighbor. Rahamthulla keeps everything organized as best he can. We know the roads around here like the back of our hands. It’s a lot of dust and hard work, but that’s the life we chose.
