Sree General Store

We've been here at 4-64 in Gudibanda for a good while now. It’s a small place, right in the heart of Anantapur, where the sun gets pretty hot most afternoons. Our days usually start early, around seven, sweeping the front and getting the sacks of rice and pulses ready. People from around the neighborhood stop by for small things—maybe a bar of soap, some tea leaves, or just to see what’s fresh. We don’t have fancy shelves or anything like that. It’s just us and the stock we manage to keep. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because the roads out here aren't always the best, but we make do. We know most of the faces that walk through the door by name. It’s not a big operation, just a regular shop where you can find what you need for the kitchen or the house without much fuss. We try to keep things organized, though boxes do pile up in the corners when a new shipment arrives. It gets a bit dusty being near the main path, but that’s just how it is. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the wooden stool behind the counter, waiting for the evening rush when people finish work. It’s quiet in the middle of the day, which gives us time to count the stock. We’re just a part of the daily life here in Gudibanda, doing our bit every day.
