You’ll find us on Bus Stand Road in the Rapthadu area of Anantapur. Since we are right near the bus stand, it’s always a lively spot with people coming and going. The school is a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, so it’s a residential place where many of our girls stay throughout the term. This means the school feels more like a home than just a building. We have dormitories and a kitchen that stays busy from early morning until late at night. The staff here aren’t just teachers; they look after the kids like they are their own. It’s a lot of responsibility. We spend our days teaching in the classrooms and then making sure everyone is fed and safe in the evenings. The Anantapur heat can be quite tough, so we spend a lot of time under the fans or in the shade of the building when we can. Our facilities are basic but they serve the purpose. There’s always a bit of laundry hanging out to dry or someone sweeping the courtyard. We don't have a big marketing budget or fancy brochures. We just focus on the girls who live here and make sure they get their education and a safe place to stay. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes tiring life, but it’s what we do here on Bus Stand Road. It is just our daily work.
