Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd.

Our place is tucked away in O.V.R. Colony, right there in Papampeta. If you’re driving down Kalyandurg Road in Anantapur, you’ve probably passed us a dozen times. Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. is what’s on the sign, but to us, it’s just the shop where we spend most of our daylight hours. The area around here, especially being in the Anantapur District, gets pretty dusty and bright, so we see a lot of people looking for stuff to fix up their homes. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of cans and that specific smell of fresh paint that never really goes away. We’ve got the mixing machines in the back that make a bit of a racket when they’re going. It’s a practical setup. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just shelves of different colors and a counter where we talk to painters and homeowners who know exactly what they need, or sometimes have no clue at all. Dealing with the heat is part of the job here. We usually have the front doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Most of our neighbors in the colony know us by name now. We’ve been at this address, 4 / 1684, for a good bit of time. It’s a lot of lifting heavy buckets and checking inventory lists, but it’s honest work. We just try to make sure everyone gets the right shade before they head back out into the sun.
