Vss Oil Mills

Our mill is located at 7-358, in a building called Mayur Nivas, right in the Main Bazar of Penukonda. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell the oil being pressed before you even see the sign. Vss Oil Mills is a busy place, especially on market days when people come from the surrounding villages. The machinery we use is quite old and makes a lot of noise, so it’s hard to have a conversation while it’s running. We spend most of our time checking the seeds and making sure the oil is coming out clear. The floor is often a bit slippery, so we have to be careful where we step. It’s a small space, and we have to stack the tins and bottles wherever there is a gap. Mayur Nivas is an old house that we converted part of for the business. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. Penukonda is a traditional place, and we like to keep our way of working simple. We don't use any chemicals or anything like that. People trust us because they can see the work happening right in front of them. It’s a lot of cleaning and heavy lifting, but we are used to it. The bazar is always lively, and being in the middle of it means we are never bored. We just keep the machines going as long as there are seeds.
