Sri Sathya Sai Super Hospital

Down here in Prasanthigram, the hospital is a big part of the landscape. It’s a large building, and sometimes it feels like a maze if you aren't used to the layout. We have people coming from all over, not just from the immediate area, so the hallways stay busy from early morning until late at night. The staff here, from the nurses to the people cleaning the floors, are mostly locals who have been around for years. We don’t really do much talking about ourselves, as there is always another patient to see or a file to update. The atmosphere is generally quiet because we try to maintain a sense of order. You’ll see people sitting in the courtyards or walking slowly through the tall archways. It’s not like those modern city hospitals that feel like offices; this place has a different kind of weight to it. We keep things running by sticking to a routine that has worked for a long time. There’s a lot of coordination involved in managing the different departments, and sometimes things get a bit hectic behind the scenes, but we try to keep that away from the patients. The focus is just on the daily tasks. We make sure the beds are ready and the doctors have their schedules, and then we do it all again the next day. It’s a lot of walking and a lot of checking on things, but it’s what we do here.
