Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital

Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital is based out of Prasanthi Nilayam. It’s a bit different from your usual hospital because we spend a lot of time on the move. The whole idea is to take the medical help to where people actually live, especially in the more remote areas where there aren't many clinics. We have specially equipped vans and buses that act as our exam rooms and pharmacies. It’s a lot of work to coordinate everything, but we have a dedicated team that makes it happen. Most mornings start early with loading up the supplies and checking the vehicles. We travel to different villages and set up for the day. It’s often dusty and hot out there, but we just get on with it. We see all kinds of people, from little kids to the elderly, many of whom haven't seen a doctor in a long time. It’s a very hands-on way to work. There’s no big fancy office building to sit in; we’re mostly out in the field. When we are back at Prasanthi Nilayam, we spend our time restocking and planning the next trips. It’s a busy life and can be quite tiring, but it’s a good way to use our skills. We don't really have a front desk or a waiting room in the traditional sense. Everything is about being mobile and getting to the people who need us the most. It’s practical, everyday work for us and we just keep going.
