Sri Karthikeya General Store

We've been here at 11/135 on Eiqdual Road in Kadiri for a while now. Most days start pretty early because that is when people in Ananthapur usually want to get their things before the sun gets too hot. Sri Karthikeya General Store is just a normal place where we keep the shelves stocked with whatever folks are asking for lately. It is not a big fancy place or anything, just a room with a lot of bins and packets. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late and we have to stack boxes in the corner until we find time to open them. People come in, ask for what they need, maybe stay for a minute to talk about the rain or the price of things, and then they go. It gets dusty being near the road so we are always sweeping the front step. The fan inside makes a bit of a clicking noise but it helps when the afternoon heat hits the shop. We don’t really do anything special here, just keep the doors open and make sure we have enough stock for the next person who walks in. It is mostly local people from around this part of Kadiri who stop by. We know most of the faces. Sometimes kids come in for one little thing their mother forgot. It’s just how it goes every day. We try to keep things organized but sometimes it gets a bit messy when we are busy.
