Ramu General Store

We opened this shop here at 52-6-47 Krishna Nagar quite some time back. It's right on Gooty Road, so people often drop in while they’re heading somewhere else or coming back home from work. It is just a small place, nothing fancy at all. We have the usual things you’d expect like rice, some dals, soaps, and those little packets of biscuits the kids like. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and the shelves look a bit bare, but we try to keep the basics in stock. My cousin helps out in the afternoons when it gets a bit busier. The fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we’re used to it. Most of the people who come in live right here in the neighborhood, so we know most of their names and what they usually need. If someone needs a specific brand of tea, we try to remember to get it next time the wholesaler comes by. It gets quite dusty because of the traffic on Gooty Road, so we’re always wiping down the glass jars. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the shop front where you can see the stuff stacked up. It’s a quiet life mostly, just opening up in the morning and seeing who walks through the door. We stay open until the street lights come on. It is just how things are here in this part of town.
