Protovillage India Association

You can find us at 5-5-1 Naneppa Nagar in Hindupur, which is part of the Anantapur district. It is a very simple place. Protovillage India Association is about doing things a bit differently, but we aren't flashy about what we do. We are just a group of people living and working here together. The office is basic. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture. Most of what we use is stuff we found or made ourselves. Hindupur is a relatively quiet town, and Naneppa Nagar is a friendly place to be. We spend a lot of our time thinking about how to live better with fewer things. It isn't some big corporate project with a lot of funding. It’s just our daily lives. Sometimes people come by to see what we are up to. We don't have a formal tour or a presentation. We just show them around the place and talk. We make plenty of mistakes. Not everything we try works out the first time, but we think that’s how you learn. We don’t use complicated language or try to act like we have all the answers. We are just learning as we go along. The people here in Anantapur are very hardworking, and we try our best to match that. It is all about being practical and staying grounded in the real world.
