About Prince Engineering Works – Engineering in Anantapur
Our workshop is down on Railway Station Road at 45/1/63A in Ananthapur. Since we are so close to the station, we hear the trains going by all day long. It is a noisy part of town, but you get used to the sound after a while. Most of the time, the shop is a bit of a mess with iron scraps and oily rags lying around on the benches. We have some old machines for turning and drilling that have been with us for a long time. They aren't new, but they get the job done when someone brings in a broken tractor part or a rusted piece of machinery. We spend a lot of our day with grease on our hands and dust on our clothes. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down where we go when we need a break from the heat. The sun can be really strong here, making the metal roof quite hot by the afternoon. We do not have a big team or any fancy uniforms. It is just a few of us doing the repairs and fabrication work that comes our way. Customers usually just walk in and wait while we finish up whatever is currently on the machine. It is a very simple operation. We focus on the work at hand and then we head home once the station lights come on and the day finally cools down.
