Jatha Kattu Foundation

You can find us over at 28-4-11 in Vincent Ferror Nagar. We’re right on the 7th Cross in Anantapur. It’s a busy part of town, but that’s exactly why Jatha Kattu Foundation is there. We saw that things were getting a bit disconnected in our neighborhood, so we decided to set something up to bring folks together. It’s not a corporate thing at all. It’s just a few of us who grew up here and wanted to give back to the streets that raised us. We spend our time checking in on the shops and the houses nearby. If there’s a water problem or someone needs help getting their kids into a local school program, they usually come by our place. The building isn't anything special, and the signs are a bit faded from the sun, but the door is always unlocked during the day. We don't have big meetings with fancy slides. We just sit around a table and talk. Sometimes we disagree on how to handle things, which is just how it goes when you have a bunch of local people involved. Anantapur is a tough place sometimes, but there’s a lot of heart here. We just try to be a part of that heart. It’s honest, simple work and we don’t expect any awards for it. We’re just glad to be useful to the people living around the 515002 zip code area. We stay busy with the small things.
