Dheeraj Oil Mills

Dheeraj Oil Mills is out near the Micro Wave Station on Gooty Road. You can usually tell you are close because the smell of pressed seeds fills the air long before you see the building. It is a dusty place because of all the trucks coming and going all day. The machines are old and they make a lot of noise when they are running. We spend most of our time lifting heavy sacks and making sure the oil is flowing right. It is physical work and we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. Farmers from the surrounding areas bring their crops to us and we have a lot of conversations over tea while the machines do their thing. The wind blows quite a bit out here on Gooty Road and it carries the dust everywhere. We don't have a fancy office or a website. Most of our business comes from people who have been coming here for years. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet which is a strange feeling after all the noise. We just wait for it to come back and then get the belts moving again. It is a simple way to make a living and it keeps us tied to the land and the local growers. We just keep the mill running as best as we can every single day.
