Gayatri Iron Mart & Cements

Our place is at 9/725 right on Kurnool Road. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks passing by all day and night. Gayatri Iron Mart & Cements has been sitting on this stretch for quite a while now. We deal with iron rods and bags of cement mostly. It's a lot of physical labor, moving stuff around and making sure it's stored where it won't get wet. The yard gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break when the sun is at its highest. There’s a small room we use as an office, but we’re mostly outside. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just see our sign on Kurnool Road and pull over. We’ve known some of our customers for ten or fifteen years. They come to us because they know where we are and they know we’ll give them a fair deal. We don't bother with fancy sales pitches. We just show them what we have in stock and tell them the price. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for a shipment of iron to arrive, and we just let people know the truth about it. Working on the main road means it's always dusty, so we're constantly cleaning the desk. It’s a simple life. We close up when the sun goes down and start again the next morning. It’s what we know. We don't really think about much else besides getting the stock delivered and making sure everything balances out at night.
