Chandra Sewing School

Chandra Sewing School is located on Geethasramam Road in Proddatur. We’re not a big academic college, just a place where people come to learn how to use a needle and thread. The sound of sewing machines is pretty constant from morning until evening. We have rows of tables with different machines, some old and some newer ones. People from all over Proddatur come here to pick up a skill, whether they want to fix clothes at home or start their own small shop. The instructors are local folks who have been sewing for decades. It’s a hands-on kind of place, so you’ll see bits of fabric and thread all over the floor by the end of the day. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; you just walk in and start working. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend time oiling them or fixing a belt. It’s a practical environment where people talk while they work. Geethasramam Road is usually busy, so there’s always some noise coming from outside, but we just focus on the patterns in front of us. We teach everything from basic stitches to more complicated garment making. It’s just honest work, and it’s pretty nice to see someone finally finish their first shirt or a dress they made themselves. We've been at this address for a while now and have become a small part of the local trade scene here. The lighting in the workshop isn't perfect, but we've added extra lamps over the cutting tables to help out. It's common to see people helping each other out.
