Ambuja Cement

We’re based out in Village Doburji, near the Lodhi Majra post office, right by the Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant in the Ropar district. Being so close to the thermal plant means there’s always a lot of industrial activity around us. It’s a very practical place to be for a cement business like ours. The air is often thick with the smell of the works, and there’s a constant hum from the machinery nearby. We spend our days dealing with bags of Ambuja Cement, getting them loaded onto trucks and sent out to various construction sites. It’s hard, physical labor and everything is covered in a layer of grey dust. The roads around here can be tough, especially for the heavy lorries when it’s been raining. We don't have a slick office or a team of people in suits. We’re mostly in boots and work clothes, keeping an eye on the logistics and making sure the counts are right. Some days are just a blur of paperwork and diesel fumes, but that's what it takes to keep the supply moving. We know the local area well and have been part of the landscape here for a good while. It's not a glamorous job, but it's essential for the building that goes on around Ropar. We just show up, do the work, and try to keep things running as smoothly as possible despite the heat and the noise.
