Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers is the name on the door here at Shed No. C1-b/8 in the Gidc at V U Nagar. We do a lot of wood-related work, which explains the name. There’s usually sawdust on the floor and the sound of a saw somewhere in the back. It’s a lively place, even if it gets a bit cramped when we have big pieces of lumber coming in. We’ve been in V U Nagar for a while and like the area. It’s a solid industrial zone. Our shed is mostly one big room where everything happens. We have a small corner for the computer and some papers, but mostly it’s all tools and workbenches. We don't use any fancy sales talk. If someone comes in, they see exactly what we’re doing. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the morning fixing them instead of working on orders. That’s just life in a workshop. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just enjoy working with our hands and seeing something get finished. The smells of cut wood and glue are part of our daily life. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. We’re usually here from early morning until the sun starts to go down. If you drop by, don't mind the mess; it's just how a woodworking shop looks when it's being used for real work. We try to sweep up before we leave so it's not too bad the next morning.
