Sunrise Products

It’s usually pretty quiet when I first open up the doors at Sunrise Products in the morning. We’re located over at Plot No. 32 in the GIDC area. It’s a busy spot once the sun is fully up, with trucks moving around and people heading to work. Inside our place, it’s mostly just us trying to get through the daily list of things to make. We aren't a huge operation with hundreds of people. It’s just a handful of us who have been doing this for a long time. Some days everything goes smooth, and other days one of the tools breaks and we spend half the morning trying to fix it with whatever we have on hand. That’s just part of the job, I guess. We try to keep things organized, but there’s always a pile of scrap somewhere that needs moving. The floor gets swept once a day, though it doesn't stay clean for long. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to answer phones with a script. Usually, someone just yells my name if there's a visitor at the gate. We’ve been at this plot for a bit, and we know the neighbors well. If someone needs a hand moving a heavy crate, we help them, and they do the same for us. It’s a decent way to earn a living, even if the work is hard on the back.
