Travel 2000

Our office for Travel 2000 is located on the second floor of the Limbuwala Complex. It sits right on G P O Road in Anand, which is one of those streets that never seems to stay quiet for long. You have to walk up the stairs to find us, and sometimes the hallway is a bit dark if the bulb has flickered out. We spend most of our day looking at screens, trying to figure out the best routes for people who want to go somewhere else. Whether it is a bus ticket or a flight, we just sit here and handle the details. The building itself has been around for a long time, so it has that old city feel to it. You can hear the traffic from the road downstairs all day long—honking and the sound of rickshaws. We have a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait for us to print out their itineraries. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people show up at once, but we make it work. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a little bit but it keeps the air moving during the humid months. We aren't trying to be anything big or corporate. We are just a local travel spot where people can come in, talk about where they need to go, and get it sorted without too much fuss. The local chai wallah comes by at four.
