Shakti Masala is tucked away in Nani Khadki Vad Faliya. If you know Bhadran, you know it is right near the main bus stand. It’s always noisy there with the buses coming and going, but we like being in the middle of everything. Our family has lived in this area for a long time, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. The shop itself is small and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it serves us well. We spend our mornings grinding the masalas. The smell is very strong, and sometimes it makes the neighbors sneeze if the wind blows the wrong way. We don't have any big machines, just some basic equipment that we’ve had for a decade. Taluka Borsad is a hot place, so we usually close up for a bit in the afternoon when the sun is at its worst. Then we open back up in the evening when it’s cooler. We sell mostly to the local families and sometimes to travelers who are waiting for their bus and want to take some fresh spices home. We don't do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where to find us. It’s just honest work, day in and day out, making sure the jars are full and the floor is swept as best as we can manage. We don't have a big team, just family members who know how to get the job done right. We have seen changes around the bus stand, but our corner stays the same.
