Rushikesh General Stores

It is just a small shop here at Rushikesh General Stores. We are right on Anand Nagar Road, just across from the Bhatiya Complex in Harsh Nagar. My family has been running this for a while. It’s a busy corner so we see a lot of people walking by every day. Some people just stop in for a quick thing on their way home from work. We open early in the morning, usually around eight, and keep the doors open until quite late in the evening. It can get dusty because of the road traffic, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the shelves and rearranging the stock. It is not fancy. We have everything from snacks to household items piled up where they fit. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to wait around, which gets a bit boring. But then a neighbor stops by for a chat and the time passes faster. We know most of the people around here by name. Dealing with change is always tricky, especially when prices go up or down. We just write everything down in the big register book. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the store, but we know where everything is kept. It’s hard work standing all day, but it is what we do. We don't have a big website or anything, just the shop. We just keep going every day and hope for the best. It’s a lot of hours but it’s our life.
