Ronak Tea Co. is located right near D.Z. High School, so things get pretty loud when the bells ring and the kids head home. We are right on the corner of Borsad Road and A.V. Road, which is always busy with scooters and rickshaws. I spend most of my day standing near the front, watching the street while I weigh out tea for customers. The shop isn't very big, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it's home to us. We have jars of different blends lined up along the back wall. Some people come in just to talk while they wait for their tea to be packed. It’s a bit of a dusty spot because of all the traffic, but we try to keep the tea covered up. My brother helps me out on the busy days when everyone seems to show up at once. We’ve been here long enough that the locals don’t even need to tell me what they want anymore. I just reach for their usual bag. The smell of raw tea is always hanging in the air around the shop. It’s a simple life, just counting out change and folding over the tops of paper bags. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop here by the school where we’ve always been.
