Anklav is a small town in the Anand district of Gujarat. Our office is set up right by the Old Railway Station Road in the Ambawadi area. It has a very local feel to it. Everybody knows their neighbors here. The office is just a regular building where we handle the daily business for our projects. Because we are a joint venture, we have people traveling in from all over the state, so there is a lot of coordination involved. The office itself is very basic. We have some tables, chairs, and a few ceiling fans that struggle to keep the heat away during the peak of summer. We do not have air conditioning in every room, so we mostly gather in the one room that stays the coolest. We do a lot of road construction around this area. You can often see our trucks and equipment moving along the main roads near the post. We spend a good chunk of our time on the phone with suppliers or checking in on the crews. It is not a fancy job. We get our hands dirty and we spend most of the day outdoors. When we are finally in the office, it is usually just to fix the numbers or make sure the payroll is ready. The station road is always humming with people, which makes the office feel like it is in the middle of everything. We just do our work quietly.
