Mira Hardware

Our shop is over in Village Lambhvel, which is very close to the Swami Narayan Mandir. Being near the temple means we see a lot of people every day, especially during the festivals when the whole area gets really crowded. We sell hardware, so the shop is full of things like nails, screws, tools, and all the small bits and pieces people need for repairs. It is a simple place with concrete floors and high shelves that are usually a bit dusty. We don’t have any fancy displays. We just keep everything in bins or hanging on the walls where we can find it. Most of our customers are locals from the village or nearby areas who come in looking for something specific to fix a door or a fence. We spend a lot of time just chatting with folks while we look for the right size bolt. In the middle of the day, when it’s really hot, things slow down and we usually sit near the front to catch whatever breeze there is. It’s a quiet life for the most part, apart from the sounds of the temple bells or the occasional tractor passing by. We like being in Lambhvel because it’s a tight-knit community and everyone knows where we are. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait to see who stops by that day.
