Krishna Gaushala

Our place is at number 16 in Patel Society, which is right by the Vyamshala. We run a gaushala here, so our day-to-day work is all about taking care of the cows. It is a very hands-on job, as you can probably imagine. There is always someone hauling hay, cleaning the stalls, or checking on the health of the animals. It is definitely not an office job. Our clothes usually end up smelling like the outdoors and the animals, but none of us mind that much. We have a small, dedicated team who really cares about the cows. We don't have any marketing people or fancy brochures; we just have the animals and the yard we keep them in. People from Patel Society often stop by to say hello or to see if we need an extra hand with anything. It is a very local, community-focused operation. We rely on hard work and the help of the people around us. The day starts very early here, often before the sun has even come up, because the cows need to be fed and tended to. It is a quiet life in some ways, but it is also physically demanding and keeps us on our feet. We don't use any special language to describe what we do. We just look after the animals and keep the place running at Patel Society. It is honest work that feels right to us.
