Kaira Can Company Ltd, Anand, Guj

We are located in Anand, right across from Bhadranwala’s Lane and near the Tulsi Cinema. This area is pretty well known because of the Amul Dairy Road being right there. Our factory is where we make metal cans for all sorts of things. It’s a loud place once the machines get going in the morning. You can hear the clinking of metal all the way down the street. We’ve been here for a long time, and some of the people working the floor have been with us since they were young. The air inside smells like oil and cold metal. It’s not the kind of place you’d go for a quiet meeting. We focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the seals are tight. If a batch isn't right, we have to start over, which is a pain but it happens sometimes. The office side of things is just as busy, with orders coming in from different parts of Gujarat and beyond. We don't have a lot of time for fancy presentations. Most of our day is spent checking the production line or talking to the truck drivers who come to pick up the finished cans. Being in Anand means we are right in the middle of a lot of industry. We just do our part in the chain. It’s repetitive work, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we all appreciate.
