Our office is located in the Khwazanagar Society over in Petlad. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, though the mornings can be a bit loud when everyone is heading out. Being in the District of Anand means we see a lot of different people coming through for work. Hasan Juma Backer Trading & Contg. Co. Llc has been running from this spot for a bit. We have a few desks set up and some storage space for the items we trade. Most of the day is spent checking the lists and making sure the supplies are moving out on time. The weather in Gujarat gets really dusty, so we are always wiping down the tables. No big signs are posted outside, just a normal door. We mostly deal with local construction needs and some trading on the side. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to say hello while we are working. It isn't a huge operation, just a handful of us trying to get the jobs done. Both old ledgers and computers are used to keep track of things. The tea break around 4 PM is usually the highlight of the afternoon for everyone. We mostly talk about the local news or what needs to be fixed at the warehouse. It’s a simple way of working but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There is always some paperwork left for the morning when we return.
