About Umiya Wooden Industries – Building & Construction Material in Anand
Umiya Wooden Industries is tucked away at Plot No. 46 in the GIDC area of Petlad. If you come by, you’ll probably smell the fresh-cut wood before you even see our sign. It’s a messy place, to be honest, with sawdust covering most surfaces and stacks of timber waiting to be cut into something useful. We deal with all sorts of wooden products, mostly industrial packaging or basic furniture frames, depending on what the local shops in Anand need that week. The workshop isn't air-conditioned, so it gets really hot in the summer months, but we just keep the big doors open to catch a breeze. We’ve got a few old saws that have been with us for years and some newer ones that help speed things up. It’s just a handful of us working here. We know each other well. Sometimes the wood isn't perfect, so we have to spend extra time sanding it down or picking out the better pieces from the pile. It's physical work, lifting heavy planks and making sure the measurements are mostly okay. Petlad is a quiet enough place, and being in the GIDC means we’re surrounded by other small factories. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most of our work comes from people walking in or calling because they heard we do a decent job with wood. It's just a regular local business trying to make things that last. We try to keep things simple and get the orders out on time without a fuss.
