Maheshwari Timbers

We’ve been working out of Plot No. 29 in the Petlad GIDC for a good while now. It’s a busy industrial area, and our yard is usually stacked high with wood. If you walk in, you’ll probably hear the saws going and smell the fresh cut timber right away. It’s not a fancy office, just a place where we get things done. Most days start early, checking the stock and seeing what needs to be cut for the local orders coming in around Anand. We handle all sorts of wood, from rough planks to stuff that’s been planed down. It’s physical work and gets pretty dusty by the afternoon, but that’s just how it is here. Sometimes the machines act up or the power goes out, which is common enough in this part of town, so we just wait it out or fix what we can. People from the nearby villages and shops come by to pick up what they need. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the orders are ready. The yard can get a bit cluttered when a big shipment arrives, but we manage to find what we’re looking for eventually. It’s a straightforward business, really. The guys here have been doing this for years. We usually take a break around noon when the sun gets too hot, sitting on some logs and having a bit of food. Then it's back to the blades until evening.
