Western Minerals

Western Minerals is based at Plot No. B-1-20-A. The place is mostly a big open area where we keep the raw materials we handle. If you come by, you’ll see piles of different rocks and minerals waiting to be sorted or loaded onto the trucks. It gets very dusty, and everything has a thin layer of grey powder on it, from the office chairs to the trucks parked outside. We don’t bother cleaning it too much because it just comes back the next morning anyway. We spend a lot of time on the weighing scale, making sure the loads are correct before the drivers head out. It’s physically demanding work, and we are usually out in the yard under the sun for most of the shift. There’s a small shed where we keep our logs and take our lunch breaks. It’s quiet enough out here except for when the heavy machinery is running to move the bulk material. We don’t have a website or any fancy brochures; we just talk to the people who need minerals and tell them what we have in stock at the plot. The gate is often left open during the day because there’s always someone coming or going. It’s just a plain, hardworking site where we deal with the earth and the grit every single day.
