About Hari Ganga Timber Mart – Building & Construction Material in Anand
Our yard is at Plot No. 24 and 25. We have been working with wood here at Hari Ganga Timber Mart for a long time. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of fresh sawdust. It’s everywhere—in the air, on the floor, and stuck to our hair. We have stacks of timber piled high, from different kinds of trees. Some of it is rough and some is already planed down. We spend our time measuring lengths and loading up trucks for builders or people doing work on their homes. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy planks from one pile to another. The sun can be brutal in the open yard, so we do the heavy lifting early if we can. We have a few big saws that make a real racket when they’re cutting through a thick log. You have to be careful with your fingers around here. We aren't big on paperwork; we mostly just write things down on scraps of wood or old notebooks. People come in looking for a specific size, and we go digging through the stacks to find it. It’s a bit unorganized to look at, but we know where the good pieces are hidden. It’s a steady life, just dealing with wood and sawdust every day at the plots. We usually have some tea around four o'clock just to take a breather before finishing up.
