Charutar Arogya Mandalshree Krishna Hospital

Our address is 13 M Maheshwari Society, right on Kailsa H Harm Road in Anand. It is a bit of a mouthful to say the whole thing, and so is the name Charutar Arogya Mandalshree Krishna Hospital. Most of the people living around here just point to our building when they are giving someone directions to this part of town. We are located right in a residential society area, so it feels a bit more like a community spot than one of those big, cold institutions you see in movies. You can often hear the normal sounds of the neighborhood, like dogs barking or someone’s motorbike starting up, while we are working away inside. The building itself has been standing here for quite a while and you can tell by the floors and the way some of the doors creak when you open them. We have a lot of regular faces coming in, mostly older folks from the society who need their blood pressure checked or a prescription refilled for the month. We spend a lot of time just chatting with them because we have known many of them for years now. It is not always busy, but when it is, everyone on the staff has to chip in and help out. We keep a pot of tea going in the back room for when we finally get a five-minute break. The heat in Anand can be really something else in the summer, so we keep the fans going at full speed all day.
