Vikas Bangle Store

If you walk down Mohalla Kharde Bazar in Mandi Dhanaura, you will find our little shop near the Jain Mandir. It is usually pretty busy around here, especially in the evenings when families come out to shop. We have shelves filled with all kinds of bangles. Glass ones, metal ones, and the plastic ones too. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside when a big group of ladies comes in at once. They all want to see different colors and match them with their clothes. It gets noisy with all the talking and the sound of glass clicking together. We keep the fans running but it still gets warm in the summer. Being near the temple means we see a lot of people passing by every day. We’ve been at this same spot for a long time. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, but we like it that way. It feels like home. We spend a lot of time dusting the boxes because the bazar gets quite a bit of dust from the road. We don’t do fancy displays. We just put the boxes out so people can see the colors. It is a simple shop and we know most of the neighbors by name. Sometimes we share tea with the shopkeeper next door when things are quiet. It’s just how things work here in the bazar. We don't have much else to say, we just keep the shop open and sell what people need.
