Masoom China

We are set up in Mohalla Danish Mandan, right on Kotwali Road. It’s very close to the Bada Imambada, which is a big landmark around here. The area has a lot of history and the streets are often full of people. Our shop, Masoom China, is where we spend most of our waking hours. We have all kinds of items, mostly things made of china and ceramics. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to display as much as we can without breaking anything. You have to be careful when walking through the aisles. The atmosphere in the Mohalla is always lively. We get to hear the calls from the street and see the daily life of the neighborhood unfolding. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we are here. Sometimes someone will bring in a piece they’re looking to match, and we spend time searching through our back crates. It's rewarding when we find what they need. The shop is a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We keep the ledgers by hand and talk to our customers like they are friends. That’s just how we prefer to do things. Every day is a little different depending on who walks in through the door. We might be cleaning one minute and wrapping up a delicate vase the next. It’s a steady way to spend the day, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
