My practice is located at 27 Circular, right behind Guru Nanak Hospital. It’s a pretty easy place to find once you know the landmark. I’ve been working out of this space for quite a while now. The office is simple—just enough room for my drafting boards and the computer equipment I need for modern plans. Most of my days are spent working through the fine details of building designs. It’s not always the most exciting work, but it’s important to get the numbers right so things don’t go wrong later on. I deal with all kinds of clients, from people building their first home to shop owners looking to expand. I like being near the hospital area because it’s always active, even if the traffic on Circular can be a bit much during the day. I handle the projects from the start till they’re ready for construction, which means I’m often out on sites checking on things personally. I don't really have a big staff, so when people call, they get to talk to me directly about their plans. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things, but I think people appreciate that they aren't just a number. I just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure every set of plans is as clear as possible for the builders. Working behind the hospital has its own rhythm and I’ve gotten used to it over the years. It's just a one-man show mostly.
