Vijay Hospital Furniture

Our workshop and shop are over on the 88ft Bye Pass in Laxmi Vihar, right on Majitha Road here in Amritsar. We spend most of our days surrounded by metal frames, rolls of padding, and the smell of fresh paint and welding. It’s a bit of a messy business, making furniture for hospitals, but someone has to do it. We aren't a big fancy showroom with bright lights and salesmen in suits. Usually, you’ll find us with dust on our clothes, moving beds or trolleys around to make space for the next delivery. The traffic on the bypass can be a real headache when we’re trying to load the trucks, but we’ve learned to work around the busiest times. We make all sorts of things like patient beds, stools, and those little tables that go over the lap. Nothing we make is meant to look pretty; it’s just built to be strong and last a long time in a busy ward. Some of our machines are old and they make a lot of noise, but they still get the job done right. If you come by, you might have to shout a bit over the sound of the grinders. We’ve been at this for a while now and we know which wheels work best on tiled floors and which ones get stuck. It’s practical work for practical people, and we just keep at it every day from morning until the sun goes down.
