Khera Rickshaw Company

Khera Rickshaw Company is located at M- 2/ 153 154 on Tarn Taran Road. It is a big space because we need the room for all the rickshaws and the parts that go with them. The building is right on the main road, so you can't really miss it if you are driving past. Inside, it is a mix of finished rickshaws and frames that are still being worked on. There are piles of tires in the back and stacks of metal tubes near the welding area. The smell of paint and rubber is pretty strong most of the time. We have a few mechanics who are always busy with their tools, so there is a lot of clanging and banging going on. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains here and there from the work we do. We have a small desk near the front where we talk to customers and handle the sales. It is a very busy part of Tarn Taran Road, with plenty of noise from the traffic outside merging with the noise from our workshop. We don't have air conditioning, so we just use big pedestal fans to move the air around when it gets stuffy. People come in looking for new rickshaws or just to get a part replaced on their old one. It is a straightforward business. We just stay focused on the vehicles and making sure they are ready to go out on the road. We spend a lot of time tightening bolts and checking the wheels before anything leaves the shop floor.
