Sukhpal Singh Architect

My office is up at 701 in A Block, right there in New Amritsar along the G.T. Road. It’s a busy part of town, so there’s always something going on outside. I’ve been working as an architect for years and this space has everything I need to get the job done. It’s mostly just me here, surrounded by stacks of drawings and a few models gathering dust on the shelves. Working on G.T. Road makes it easy for people to stop by when they’re heading into or out of the city. I spend a lot of my time on the computer doing CAD work, but I still like to use a pencil and paper when I'm first thinking through a layout. People come to me with all sorts of ideas, some practical and some a bit wild, and we just try to find a middle ground that can actually be built. It’s a lot of technical work, checking regulations and making sure the structure is sound. I don't go in for big marketing or anything like that; most of my work comes from people just knowing I’m here. It's a straightforward way to run a business. I like being part of the New Amritsar community and seeing the buildings I’ve worked on actually standing when I drive around. Sometimes it’s tiring, but finishing a set of plans feels good. I’ll be here at number 701 most days if anyone needs a drawing looked at or a new project started.
