You can find Shield Alloy Products right on G T Road by the Maqbool Pura Chowk. It’s a spot where the traffic never really seems to stop, with trucks and buses zooming past at all hours. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we are always cleaning the windows and the desks to keep things halfway decent. We work with alloys here, which means there’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving metal pieces around. The building is an older one, but it’s solid and keeps the rain out during the monsoon. We have a small yard where we load the finished goods onto the trucks for delivery. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the metal too hot to touch without thick gloves. It’s a loud environment because of the machinery inside and the traffic outside, so we all have to speak up a bit to be heard. We’ve been at this location for many years and most of the local drivers know exactly where we are. Our office is just a partitioned space in the front of the building with a few desks and a computer that’s seen better days. We don't do much in terms of decoration; there are just some old calendars on the wall and piles of invoices. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, we do the metal work, and we make sure the orders are correct before they go out. There isn't much more to it than that.
