About Sanchit Nanda Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Amritsar
Sanchit Nanda Architect is basically my personal practice. I’ve been working under my own name for some time now. I don’t have a big team or a suite of offices. It’s mostly just me handling the drawings and meeting people wherever it makes sense, usually on the site itself. Being an independent architect means I end up doing a bit of everything, from the initial sketches to the boring paperwork that no one likes to talk about. My days are rarely the same. One morning I might be checking the foundation at a residential site, and by the afternoon, I’m back at my desk trying to fix a software glitch. It gets a little lonely sometimes without a big office buzz, but it also means I know every single detail of every project I take on. I don’t use any fancy jargon to describe what I do. I just try to make sure the walls are straight and the rooms have enough light. I’ve learned that things often go wrong during construction, so I spend a lot of time just solving those little problems as they come up. It’s not a glamorous job, despite what people think. There is a lot of dust and many long hours spent looking at spreadsheets. But I enjoy the process of seeing something go from a simple idea to a physical structure that someone can actually use. That's really all there is to it.
